until you see these!
The horticulturists at Breck’s have
collected six of the most exciting hybrid
daylilies grown today. And not only are
they colourful, they’re also HUGE!
One of the easiest perennials to grow, daylilies show off
their brilliant blooms all season long. Naturally disease, pest
and deer resistant,they will grow well in just about any part
of your garden—from full sun to partial shade.Daylilies also
tolerate poor soil, so they are a great choice for sprucing up
those hard-to-plant areas. These vivacious plants will also
multiply freely over the years making them well-suited for
naturalizing. They can be divided and transplanted spring
or fall, so you’ll always have a ready supply for new garden
projects or as gifts for friends and neighbours.
Each Collection Includes:
1 Svengali… Pale salmon, almost cream, with a
lavender-violet eye zone and yellow
halo, finishing with a green
throat. Extended bloom time—
each bloom lasts at least 16 hours.
6 1/2" blooms. Grows 24-30" tall
with an 18-24" spread.
1 Imperial Lemon… Huge, heavily ruffled lemonyellow
blooms sport small, green
throats. A vigourous grower with
excellent flower form and attractive
foliage all season. 7" blooms.
Grows up to 36" tall with an 18-
24" spread.
1 French Tudor… A luminous rose-pink self is highlighted
by a prominent light pink
to white mark down the centre of
each petal. The throat is bright
green with a delicate yellow edge.
Blooms 6 1/2 inches across. Grows
26-28" tall with a 14-16" spread.
1 Spider Miracle… Large, exotic, spiderlike blooms
are chartreuse green in the centre
of each narrow, spoon-shaped
petal, fading to a rich yellow
at the ends. Multiple American
Hemerocallis Society award winner.
8 1/2" blooms. Grows 28-32"
tall with a spread of 18-24".
1 James Marsh… An award-winning variety, James
Marsh is considered one of the
very best red daylilies. It displays
vibrant scarlet-red petals surrounding
an intense lemon-lime
throat. Truly magnificent. Blooms
6 1/2 inches across. Grows 26-28"
tall with an 18-24" spread.
1 Ruffled Apricot… Pie crust ruff led petals of
blushing apricot with creamy
pink midribs and golden-orange
throat made this stunning daylily
an award winner. It even emits
a wonderful fragrance—very
unusual for a daylily! 6-7" blooms.
Grows 26-28" tall with a 12-24"
spread.
