I was doubtful when I purchased these flowering ferns that were not ferns! They are stunning! The leaves are very textured and of course who cannot resist the trumpet sized flower! Too pretty. Living in zone 7 ...they don't need to be lifted! My only 1st year planting had to be careful not to plant too deep...the top needs to be no more than an inch under the soil! Then I had to look for them....to know what I was looking for....I finally pup little kabob sticks in so I knew when they were up and that I didn't damage them! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

"I have these in a ceramic pot on my deck and love it! They are said to bloom on Summer Solstice and bring fortune to the owner (that is the tradition anyway). It is Solstice now and they are blooming like crazy!! This is my first year with them and I found that using the Bulb and Plant food and making sure this plant has a good miix of sun and shade throughout the day is key. I do not know much about lifting in Fall but I will figure that out as I go,"

Each plant features 3-5 statuesque stalks that reach up to 18 inches tall and are loaded with beautiful pink flowers. This perennial multiplies freely and forms neat clumps up to 18 inches wide. Makes a lovely border addition! Adored by hummingbirds! Not a true fern, it needs a bit of sun to thrive.

Dress your garden beautifully with the delightful Flowering Fern for springtime colour. Groups of cheerful rosy pink trumpet shaped blossoms display sunny yellow throats. Perched atop tall stalks, the blooms are accompanied by glossy fern like foliage that makes a dramatic statement. These lively plants bloom in the late spring and into the early summer, and make wonderful cut flowers.

Flowering fern (Incarvillea delavayi) requires well drained, loamy, sandy or clay soil. They grow well in full to partial sun, unlike shade-loving true ferns, which makes them a versatile plant for many areas. Incarvillea flowering fern grows from 12 to 18 inches in height, spreads around 18 inches and can be grown in zones 3 through 9. Zones 3 and 4 should lift the crowns in autumn and store during the winter in a dry, cool place.

The incarvillea flowering fern makes a wonderful accent plant for a rock garden, border plantings along your walkway or in front of hedges. Flowering fern can also be container grown and adds a colourful touch to your patio or porch. Lilies, peonies and astilbe make attractive companion plants. Butterflies and hummingbirds are drawn to these lovely flowers. Enjoy a little extra garden magic with vivid flowering ferns.
