Unique Colouration!

This unique Tango Lily is simply stunning with its rich black petals tipped in vibrant yellow. So far the only lily of its kind to sport such a large black centre, the combination adds a bit of drama to the garden. A very strong and long-lasting variety for bouquets, you will want to make sure you plant plenty in your cutting garden. Lionheart multiplies rapidly when left undisturbed after flowering, giving you more flowers year after year. Suitable for Southern gardens. Asiatic Lily

Unique Characteristics: So far the only lily of its kind to sport such a large black centre, the combination adds a bit of drama to the garden.
Zones: 3 to 8

Add drama to your garden with the distinctive blooms of the Lionheart Tango Lily. These upright, flared blooms feature dramatic colouring: the petals are a purple so deep that it's nearly black. Flirty yellow tips and a dusting of gold in the throat contrasts strikingly against the dark background colour. These long-lasting flowers bloom from early to mid summer and are an exotic addition to floral arrangements.

This asiatic lily isn't choosy about location. Plant your Dutch-sourced lily bulbs 6 inches deep and 9 to 12 inches apart in well-drained clay, sandy or loamy soil in an area of full to partial sun. They thrive in zones 3 to 8 and are suitable for Southern gardens, unlike some lily varieties. This lionheart lily attains an impressive height of 24 - 36 inches and will spread 12 - 18 inches. If not lifted in the fall, these perennial lilies will produce even more blooms the following year.

The vivid lionheart lily deserves to be a focal point in your garden. Accentuate it with white, purple or yellow companions, or let it shine on its own in a container. Plant these lilies in rows with a backdrop of dark evergreens or along a fence or wall for a bold border. Create an air of excitement in your garden with the stunning Lionheart Tango lily.

Excellent border flower Review by KAYE VEAZEY - LAKE FOREST, IL

This lily is quite unusual and a great addition, especially next to my black and yellow Rudbeckia. In the photo on the Breck's website, the lily looks a bit purple but it is not -- pure black and yellow.

I ordered these this spring and they are an absolute treasure; the color is amazing and so unique in contrast with the creamy white of the eye liner lilies planted across from them--- in fact i am so happy with my breck's bulbs that I bought this year I am planning a very large order next year and will never shop anywhere else.

Opened today (first day of summer) and is unlike any of my other lilies. Makes the other ones look kind of plain :). May order the other tango lily (Olina).
