  • Planting Instructions Set rhizome so bottom half is below ground level. Firm well and water thoroughly. Plant where they will get at least 5 hours of sun per day.

Hardy in zones 4 through 9, Iris germanica 'Orange Harvest' flowers grow well in either full or partial sun. The flowers reach 32 to 34 inches in height and spread between 12 and 18 inches in width. Plant rhizomes in midsummer or early fall to allow the roots to establish themselves before cold weather begins. We recommend that you plant the rhizomes in well-drained clay, sandy or loamy soil from 1 to 2 feet apart and 1 inch deep with the tops of the rhizomes protruding from the soil. Water regularly and remove faded blooms to encourage more Orange Harvest iris blossoms later in the year. Divide the plants every 3 to 5 years when flower production lessens.
