Description

Did you know there are 7 essential colours that comprise a rainbow? It's true! So it only makes sense that our Rainbow Iris Collection brings you 7 exceptionally colourful varieties. Plant them 12-24" apart in late summer or early fall. Since they're remarkably hardy and vigorous growers, any spot in your landscape with full sun to partial shade will do fine. Then, get set to watch a kaleidoscope of hues burst forth in late spring and early summer.

The name iris means "rainbow." We have searched for world-renowned colours, the most graceful forms and robust reliability. Once planted, your Rainbow Irises are remarkably self-sufficient, giving you so much fuss-free pleasure. Because they multiply annually, you can count on their return year after year with more colour intensity and even greater abundance.

This collection includes 7 each of the following varieties.

Beverly Sills: Lush, coral-pink blooms make Beverly Sills one of the most talked-about and sought-after pink irises of all time. This extremely fast grower bears loads of beautifully formed flowers in late spring to early summer. Grows 34-36" tall.

Spartan: Rich, velvety red standards and falls add a dramatic flair to any setting. Its striking colouration makes Spartan a real standout in the garden. Grows 35" tall.

Harvest of Memories: Be prepared to be drawn into your garden by these bright, sunny yellow blooms and their sweet, delicate fragrance. Grows 38" high.

Colour Tart: A complexity of colours and patterns that has no equal. Golden-bronze beard is offset by striped and dotted embellishments in burgundy on pale yellow falls. Sturdy stems grow 36-38" high.

Sugar Blues: Deep blue falls are capped by sky blue standards as clear and light as a cloudless spring day. A delicate fragrance perfumes the air when Sugar Blues is in the garden. Grows 36" tall.

Chasing Rainbows: A timeless creation! A soft pink-caramel glow in the standards is set off by a lavender midrib glow. Ultra-wide falls in blended orchid-violet are shouldered with caramel. Bright orange beards. Grows 34" tall.

Night Owl: Deep, mysterious jet-black blooms make this iris stand out wherever it is planted. Flower stems grow to 38" tall.

PLUS YOUR FREE GIFT:

Royal Blue Batik Iris: With its flared, intense violet blooms streaked with creamy white accents, the Royal Blue Batik is one of the most dazzling bicolour varieties of iris. Whether intermixed with other irises or perennials in your garden, or as part of an elegant cut-flower arrangement, it asks to be noticed and admired.

There is a difference in growing and blooming. Try throwing some epsom salts on the iris. If you have not planted them too deep you should get blooms.

I have purchased two iris collections and think that it just takes a little time. The batik collection did not bloom the first year - but this year I had a strikingly beautiful golden iris - one flower but very nice. The rebloomer was still blooming at Thanksgiving!
