"My mother ordered this Iris for me on April 2011. I received it, and planted it along with some other Iris I had been so graciously given by neighbors & friend's. I live along a very busy & highly traveled highway, but in a very rural part of Ohio. I have made my Iris bed so that it overlook's the Ohio River & can be seen by hundred's of thousand's that travel this busy highway every year. I have allowed my other Iris to naturalize over the few years since buying my turn of the century home, but nothing can hold a candle to this STUNNER! Nor can I believe the sheer beauty of the Spicy Cajun Louisiana Iris. It's so bright (the stamens) against the dark burgundy backdrop. It is so beautiful that since it bloomed I've had people stop to take pictures of it, and ask where I found such a beautiful specimen of Iris. I can't believe the traffic that have turned around to come back & ask about this TRAFFIC~STOPPER as I now refer to it. It has caused quite the uproar along this part of the highway. I've even had seasoned master gardeners stop, and ask about this Iris. The picture in the catalog & online is very much the likeness, but does this IRIS NO JUSTICE! This Iris is a stunner. I've filled my IPhone with a entire roll of each stage of this Iris's development since it was very beguiling as soon as it showed itself. I was very curious to watch its development & now so glad I documented this w/ picture's. Thanks SO VERY MUCH for providing me with literally a Traffic~Stopper. Because of this one Iris I've been blessed with the opportunity to meet wonderful people from in, and around this country. Yes, I said country & a couple from Toyko that was visiting their son that is enrolled at a local Medical school. People from other states that share my love of gardening & even some who dont stop & say they were spell~bound as soon as they laid eyes on this plant. I can't say enough about the sheer beauty of this Iris. I will see if this"

Mine started blooming April 8th and they are lovely. But they do not match the picture. All petals are the same medium purple color and not two tone as pictured. Also the yellow centers are much smaller and do not stand out like in the picture.
