Goes Great With

Description

A Breck's® Exclusive! Velvety, rich purple blooms up to 6" across. Strong, tall stems impress in the garden and bouquets.

The most sensational sight in a summer garden! Dinner plate-size blossoms with masses of brilliantly coloured petals will be the pride of your garden.

Dinnerplate Dahlias are distinctive as backgrounds for borders and as decorative hedges. But they're also gorgeous for cut-flower arrangements. Each massive, long-lasting flower is a bouquet in itself. And the more you cut, the better the flowers bloom.

They're so easy to care for, too. After the flowering is done, just lift the clumps and store them for replanting the following spring. With a single investment, you'll have many years of Dutch beauty for your home and garden.

This item will ship in Spring 2018. ORDER NOW and we'll ship at the proper planting time for your zone.

I ordered dinner plate dahlia collection and they are all incredible! Super fast growers and admired by all the neighbors. They have to be staked though. Can't go wrong with these!
Disappointing Color

I was drawn to rich purple color in the photos both online and in catalog. But mine bloomed with no purple color, more of a pink/lilac.
Nice addition

To start: They are pretty and I have gotten several compliments. Mine are about 3 to 3.5 feet tall, but the colors are more reddish or even a warmer purple color than the nice deep purple color shown in the picture when ordering. The website listing states that the blooms are "up to" 6 inches. So I was expecting blooms around 6 inches but blooms are fairly small, probably about half that. They do bush out nicely and i have gotten more than 1 stalk from the clump. Since this is the first year, i do not know how long they will actually bloom for. Overall, they are a nice addition and I would recommend and buy again, I just expected a little different outcome.
Good, but misleading photo

One of my tubers didn't grow, but the other produced tall, healthy plants. The color, while pretty, wasn't remotely like the deep, rich purple-blue; it was a paler purple.
