This tulip was a show stopper in my front yard this year. They stood up to the wind and passing cars on a busy state highway. They were very eye catching. They made the other tulips fade in comparison.

Really cool little tulips. Multiply nicely. Only drawback is that the deer love them as much as I do. The deer tend to chew them off just after they open. :-(

"If I could, I would have my entire 1/2 acre planted in Monsellas! I am in awe every spring when they bloom. A wonderfully shorter tulip with vibrant red and yellow striped flowers. Sometimes there are up to four blooms on one plant!I have quite a few different varieties of Breck's tulips, but my Monsellas are the best of the bunch!"

I got these as part of a promotion and I am in love. I planted them on the side of my house going up my driveway just in case I didn't like them. Well I love them! I will be ordering lots more to fill in. They smell great and have held up for weeks. I expected tulips to bloom last about a week and that would be it. These are at least 3 weeks old and look exactly like the picture. They were the first ones up this year.

"I'm writing this on Mother's day 2014 and I live on a college campus. I planted about 1,000 Brecks tulips this year and they are all beautiful. But this tulip -- every student who stopped by to pick up a bouquet for mom wanted 2 - 3 Monsella tulips. Just stunning. Planning on adding a hundred or more next year."

It's now Easter weekend and I have just given away the last of the 24 pots of Monsella I forced over winter (8 bulbs in each pot). Outstanding success: up to 4 blooms on each stem and inside the fragrance is just delightful and colors so bright and cheery.

I love these tulips. The blooms have held on for a very long time. Even now as they are just about to drop the petals, they look beautiful. They opened up and just seemed to stay in suspended animation. The huge flowers have looked marvelous day after day and even week after week. I don't think you can go wrong with these.
Unbelievably Stunning!

Add vibrant dashes of colour to your landscape with enchanting Monsella Tulips. These Dutch-sourced tulips feature a wealth of bright canary yellow petals. As they open their layers of petals into a flared trumpet shape, they reveal fiery streaks and licks of vivid red that contrast exuberantly with the sunny petal colour. These bowl shaped blooms closely resemble a peony or waterlily in shape and look remarkable in mid spring gardens.

These tulips (Tulipa double early 'Monsella') do well in climate hardiness zones 3 to 8 and require full or partial sun. Plant the tulips in the fall to enjoy the lively blooms in mid spring. These perennial spring flower bulbs require well-drained soil, but they will also tolerate clay, loamy and sandy soil. For the best results, plant the multi-coloured tulips 6 inches deep and approximately 3 to 6 inches apart.

Increase your curb appeal by planting your Monsella tulips along walkways, paths and borders, where they'll issue a clarion call for attention. Combine these tulips in flower beds with cosmos, peonies, hostas and coneflowers for a creative and dazzling arrangement. This type of magnificent Dutch tulip is wonderful for forcing indoors. Add it to your home as a seasonal houseplant or as cut flowers. Create a stunning spring garden with the impressive Monsella tulip.
