Fragrant Carnation Collection Description
Carnations can be found in almost every store-bought bouquet, and for good reason—when the other flowers in the arrangement are starting to wither, the carnations are usually still going strong. In fact, they usually last 2-3 weeks in a vase! Now you can have this cut-flower powerhouse in your own garden and enjoy months of colour and fragrance indoors or out!
Carnations are Perfect for Pots
When planning your planters, consider carnations! Each of the varieties in our Fragrant Carnation Collection is ideally suited for containers and pots, thanks to their relatively short stature, compact growing habit and extremely long bloom time. Try placing them on different levels of your deck, porch or patio and enjoy their stunning beauty and fragrance all summer long!
Carnations Grandma would be happy to grow!
- • Attract hummingbirds and butterflies
• Drought tolerant
This collection includes 1 each of the following varieties:
- Faganza: A classic colour that never goes out of style. Double-toothed, lavender flowers look similar to carnations of old, but they fit right into any modern landscape or container planting.
- NEW! Charmy: Double flowers of white and pink are beautifully accented with dark red centres. Free-flowering habit yields countless blooms for months on end.
- Pink Faganza: Perhaps the most popular carnation colour, pink is said to symbolize friendship or a mother's love. The toothed, double blooms of this medium pink variety feature lighter pink highlights.
- Luigi: You don't have to wait long for these flowers, Luigi blooms surprisingly early. Darling double blooms in a vintage salmon-orange make lovely accents in containers.
- Vulcano: Its blood-red, double blooms are produced by a freely flowering habit and look great in hanging baskets. The fragrance of the flowers attracts hummingbirds and butterflies, but deer tend to avoid eating the plants.
