Double Hollyhock Collection
Double Hollyhock Collection
The Butterfly Effect
People and pollinators agree: The double hollyhocks chosen for this collection are some of the most scrumptious varieties available. We have a taste for their beauty, drought tolerance, and resistance to deer and rabbits. Meanwhile, butterflies, hummingbirds and bees swarm to the sweet nectar stored in their 3–5" blooms. They are the perfect flowers for growing in those trouble spots beneath black walnut trees. While the toxic juglone released by the roots of the trees is toxic or growth stunting to many types of plants, hollyhocks are is unaffected by the naturally occurring chemical.
This special selection of tall and sturdy double hollyhocks will bear lots of colourful, ruffled, carnationesque blooms that will have pollinators making a beeline for your backyard. Great for use as cut flowers!
Includes 1 each of Purple, White, Pink, Yellow and Red.Purple: Deep purple-red flowers open on soaring stems to add regal splashes of colour wherever they're used. You will be amazed; your visitors will be impressed.
White: Round flowers of pristine white emerge on towering, upright spikes that rise above the grey-green foliage. Bold blooms stun in mass plantings.
Pink: Fully double blooms are a pink blend and fill tall stalks throughout the summer. An utterly charming version of the garden classic.
Yellow: Lush, fluffy blooms open in cheery shades of yellow. Looks fabulous at the rear of a sunny border consisting of lower-growing perennials.
Red: Ruffled, deep red blooms inspire romance whether presiding over the landscape or carefully arranged in a vase. Adds vertical interest to a back border.
