Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan Description

Popular, reliable perennial with an extended flowering period.
This slightly more compact black-eyed Susan variety has been a favourite of gardeners since its introduction in 1937. It reliably produces lots of charming, long-blooming, daisylike flowers that attract butterflies, hummingbirds and bees to the garden but is unappetizing to deer and rabbits. The 5" blooms are a bit larger and brighter than other black-eyed Susans, and have golden-yellow petals and dark, button eyes. Be sure to plant some in your cutting garden. During winter, the seeds of the wilted flower heads feed hungry songbirds. Drought tolerant and strong. Goldsturm has earned numerous top honours, including the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit and the Perennial Plant Association's Perennial Plant of the Year®.
