Breck's® Many Shades of Hosta Collection

Breck's® Many Shades of Hosta Collection

Colourful Hostas for Your Shade Garden

America's Most Popular Perennial The hardy hosta has a well-earned reputation as one of the loveliest, most reliable plants for growing in the shade. Known for its broad, textured foliage that comes in countless colour combinations, hostas are versatile, require little care and fit in just about anywhere—such as beneath a stand of trees and alongside buildings. While we love their lush leaves, the tall flower scapes of hostas provide added dimension and colour!
Our Many Shades of Hosta Collection offers hosta lovers an exciting alternative to ordinary hosta hues—with bold colour combinations and incredible shapes and textures.

This collection includes five hostas:
  • Patriot: A very popular hosta, Patriot is revered for its attention-getting colouring and robust habit. The deep green, heart-shaped leaves are edged in bright white. Selected Hosta of the Year in 1997 and a recipient of the Award of Garden Merit. Height: 22"
  • August Moon: Its huge, heart-shaped leaves, which reach about 9" long and 8" wide, open as chartreusegreen but—if planted in full sun—take on a gorgeous golden tone. In mid to late summer, lavender flowers appear on tall scapes to lure butterflies. Height: 20–24"
  • Blue Angel: Electrifying silvery blue foliage is heavily textured and tends to be more resistant to slugs than the softer leaves of average hostas. It brightens up the landscape with its vibrant tones. White flowers create a nice contrast in midsummer. Height: 30–36"
  • Paul's Glory: This colour-changing hosta bears large, chartreuse-green leaves with dramatic blue-green margins. As the summer heats up, the centres turn sunny yellow. Chosen as the American Hosta Growers Association's Hosta of the Year in 1999. Height: 25"
  • Wide Brim: The remarkable mounded foliage is dark green with irregular margins of ivory to buttery yellow. Slug-resistant plants can be left alone for years and allowed to spread. A recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Height: 26–28"
