Painted Porcelain™ Hybrid Tea Rose

Elegant blooms evoke hand-painted porcelain

Add a dash of sophistication and a blush of colour to your cottage garden, rose bed or flower border with this elegant variety from celebrated breeder Christian Bédard. Its lovely buds unfurl to release classically shaped, 3½–4" blooms with 25 to 30 petals apiece and enough sweet fragrance to attract butterflies and other pollinators. Each flower has a butter-yellow centre, a white base and light pink outer petals, giving it the look of delicate, hand-painted porcelain. This is an upright, moderately spreading rose with attractive, dark green foliage. Offers good resistance to powdery mildew and rust fungus.

  • Planting InstructionsPlant at the same level as the soil so the crown of the plant is even with the soil level. Do not bury the crown. Full sun is best for quicker flowering and higher quality plants.

  • Watering RequirementsRoses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
  • Fertilization RequirementsDo not fertilize new plants until the growth is 4 to 6 inches long. Using a balanced fertilizer, begin feeding in half the strength recommended on the package label. As the plant matures, increase the level to full strength. Fertilize after each flowering cycle. Stop all feeding prior to the winter months.
  • PruningPrune to shape. Remove any dead or damaged branches. Self-cleaning petals drop and new buds appear without pruning. Shape plants at any time
  • Winter CareMulch heavily around the base of the plant. Remove promptly in early spring.
