Huge, attention-getting flowers require no staking.

A cross between bush and tree peonies, this Itoh hybrid offers vibrant colour, a pleasant scent and excellent garden reliability. Rich red blooms stretching 7–9" across glow with golden-yellow anthers at the centre. Glossy green foliage adds visual appeal throughout the season, making this plant just as attractive out of bloom. Cold hardy and resistant to disease, it’s well suited to borders, foundation plantings or as a striking standalone feature.

Planting & Care

Planting InstructionsDig a hole large enough to spread out roots without bending them. Set crown with buds 1-2" below ground-level. Water in thoroughly. When plated in Fall: plant at least 6 weeks before ground freezes.

Watering RequirementsDo not let the soil dry out. Average water needs. Water regularly, do not overwater.

Fertilization RequirementsOnce or twice a year. Best in spring and summer. Peonies like fertile soil.

PruningRemove spent flower stems after flowering to maintain an attractive bush type perennial all summer long.

Winter CareNone, except to mulch the first winter. Remove in early spring before growth starts.
