Goes Great With

Description

Huge, 8-9" flowers in pure red positively glow against the richest purple foliage in the genus! Its saucerlike flower form has a tropical feel, but this easy-care hibiscus is hardy enough for even the cooler climate gardeners to enjoy. The awardwinning Midnight Marvel produces buds all along the stem, instead of just at the top, giving you a flower show from midsummer all the way to early fall! Growing 4' tall and spreading 4-5', it's a compact variety, just the thing for a bolder sunny border. Hibiscus 'Midnight Marvel' PPAF

"I planted this in April. It was slow to put on any real growth until the end of June, and then it took off! The foliage was a beautiful deep red and the whole plant had a wonderful form. There were tons of huge flowers from late July- end of August even though this was it's first season. I had tons of compliments as it was in my front flower bed next to the driveway. I'm so pleased with this plant."

"These are beautiful! We have 3 of them and was very fearful after a LONG and HARSH Wisconsin winter, they would not come back! Sure enough - Memorial Day weekend I saw life. Just when I was ready to give up hope! Cannot wait to see the large, beautiful flowers they produce again this year!"

I received this as a Mother's Day gift so it went in late. But I lost track of the blossoms at 98 and that was just one plant!I set it close to the rain drip off the garage and it has done very well. I am so pleased. Next year I will have a blossom to exhibit in our county fair. Perhaps it will win. I hope so because it is the only hibiscus that I've ever got to grow. I'm in windy Kansas and go by the name of Junie.
