Breck's® Colourful Oriental Poppy Collection

Breck's® Colourful Oriental Poppy Collection

Illuminate Your Early-Summer Garden!

Naturally Reliable and Adaptable! Despite their delicate appearance, poppies are extremely hardy—to a temperature of -30°F. They do well in almost any soil and tolerate dry spells. While they love the sun, they are not averse to light shade, so they are a great addition to borders and beds all around your property.

Poppies are not bothered by most pests and are quite deer resistant. Best of all, poppies are extremely long-lived—plant them this year and you will enjoy their fluttery blooms for many seasons to come!

Summer Colour Starts with Poppies!

For vivid, eye-popping colour, nothing rivals the flamboyant poppy. In late spring and early summer, when many bulbs have faded and summer perennials have yet to appear, the large 4-6" flowers of the poppy create bright spots of color framed by attractive foliage. A fantastic show!

Breck's® horticulturists have brought together five of the most outstanding Hybrid Oriental Poppies available for this spectacular collection. Each is a vibrant perennial gem. All are guaranteed to grow in your garden!

This collection includes one each of the following varieties:
  • Perry White: A garden standout with snow-white, 4-6" blooms that have rippled petals, dark burgundy centres and light green, toothed leaves.
  • Orange Glow: Add some pizzazz to your borders with these decidedly wavy, luminous orange blooms featuring black hearts and fern like leaves.
  • Helen Elizabeth: Pure salmon-pink flowers with blush blotches dance above finely divided, coarse leaves and stiff, fuzzy stems.
  • Beauty of Livermere: Spectacular, scarlet flowers with rippled petals and purple stamens measure 4-6" across and, under ideal circumstances, can reach 8"!
  • Patty's Plum: This exquisite poppy exhibits double rows of lightly ruffled petals in a deep, velvety purple.

Important Shipping Notes:

Breck's times its shipments from Holland so that bulbs and bareroots arrive at the proper planting time (depending on climatic conditions) for each area of North America. To promote optimum stress protection in transit and your success in the garden, bareroot perennials are kept in the ground in our nurseries until fully dormant. In the Fall, these plants tend to arrive at the later end of the shipping window below.

We will pack and ship your order based on the following schedules. The type of product you order or the weather may affect the anticipated shipping schedule below. Based on the contents of your order we always strive to ship your order complete, and as early as possible in the planting season to allow for the best root development once planted.
