Ebb Tide™ & Julia Child 36" Tree Rose

This tree rose pairs two award-winning varieties on a single trunk, offering a continual rotation of richly scented blooms from late spring through frost. Ebb Tide displays deep plum-purple, 3–4" double flowers with 35+ petals and a mild fruity fragrance, while Julia Child adds butter-gold blooms of the same size and petal count with a spicy licorice scent. Both roses are repeat bloomers with rounded growth, excellent disease resistance and strong form.

  • Planting InstructionsStart by soaking the roots in cold water for at least 2 hours. Mound a cone of soil in the center of the hole, then spread healthy roots around the soil mound with bud union (the knot at the base of the plant) at ground level for mild climates, or 2-3" below ground level for cold climates.
  • Light RequirementsFull Sun, Partial Shade
  • Soil RequirementsWell drained, humus enriched soil.
  • Will TolerateAcidic Soil, Loamy Soil, Sandy Soil
  • Watering RequirementsRoses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
  • Fertilization RequirementsFertilize yearly after each bloom cycle, once new growth reaches 4-5". Stop feeding before winter.
  • PruningRemoving spent blooms will encourage more flowers. Prune dramatically in early spring, after the danger of frost has passed and before new growth has begun.
  • Winter CareBring indoors in zones 4–6 for winter storage. Move outdoors again in spring after the danger of frost has passed.
