When an iris cultivar has been around at least 30 years, it becomes "historic" in the eyes of the American Iris Society, who founded the Historic Iris Preservation Society in 1988.   • Planting InstructionsSet rhizome so bottom half is below ground level. Firm well and water thoroughly. Plant where they will get at least 5 hours of sun per day.
