DescriptionA Masterpiece in Rare Iris Hues
Irises, with their swirling standards and curling falls have given us some of the most dynamic, dramatic and thrilling colours in the garden— thanks to their hints and highlights, bitones and tritones, edges, lines and contrasts. In fact, iris means rainbow in Greek! This collection, filled with some of Breck's® most unique and rare iris colourations, will create a rainbow of breathtaking hues in your mid- to late-spring garden. Easy to grow. Long-lasting cut flowers.
With literally thousands of variations of tall bearded iris in the world, it helps to identify these beautiful blossoms by their three main parts:
This collection includes 1 each of the following varieties:
Habit: Sweetly fragrant Habit has deep purpleblack falls topped with gorgeous, soft lavenderblue standards and adorned with rich gold beards. Height: 34".
Red Masterpiece: It has been a long road to breeding a true red iris, but the result is a real work of art! Each stalk yields 8-9 double-socketed buds for lavish, velvety wine-crimson blooms with glistening golden beards. Height: 3'.
Ghost Train: Sultry and smooth violet-black petals are energized by spirited ruffles. One of the most dramatically beautiful colour palettes on a dark iris. Height: 3'.
Pride of Ireland: One of the greenest irises available, Pride of Ireland presents chartreuse blooms, enhanced by a darker hue on the underside. Height: 3'.
Open Sea: With boisterous ruffles on a lovely medium blue flower, Open Sea is indeed well named! This incredibly tall variety grows 4' high.
Grand Canyon Sunset: Recreate the splendour of a desert sunset with sizzling tangerine beards nestled between pale orchid falls and luminous apricot standards. Height: 3'.
