Summer Sonata Salvia Collection

Summer Sonata Salvia Collection

Summer Sonata Salvia Collection

Salvias are lush, colourful, flowering plants that pollinators prize, deer dislike and every gardener with a sun-filled landscape should grow! These sun-loving, salt-tolerant perennials are part of the Lamiaceae family and often referred to as garden sage. These fragrant plants are often grown in borders and container gardens, tolerating heat and drought well. Honeybees, hummingbirds and butterflies are all drawn to the abundance of nectar-rich, tubular flowers these plants produce. The bright blooms are nicely set off by lots of deeply textured, dark green leaves, whose aroma fends off hungry deer and rabbits.

Standouts in the Landscape
Salvias appeal to gardeners looking for a carefree perennial that returns every year from late spring to early summer to fill the sunny areas of their gardens with gorgeous colour and remarkable texture. We searched far and wide gathering three stunning varieties, all virtuoso performers, to create the Breck's Summer Sonata Salvia Collection.

Full, Well-Rounded Plants Exhibit Excellent Vigour
The plants' uniform, rounded clumping is characteristic of this selection of Salvia nemorosa and Salvia pratensis hybrids. When they are in bloom, their large, nectar-laden flower spikes will be irresistible to the butterflies, honeybees and hummingbirds that populate your neighbourhood. Long after the flowers have faded, you'll still have a front-row seat to the lush, aromatic, crinkled foliage!
