Early-Blooming Tulips
The earliest-blooming tulips flower in March in temperate climates, just in time for the beginning of spring. Species tulips, also botanical bulbs, are the first to bloom, as they are the most closely related to early-blooming wild tulips. "Water lily" Kaufmanniana tulips bloom next, followed by wide-petaled Emperor (Fosteriana) varieties and classic single early tulips.
