Goes Great With

Description

Named for its warm colour palette, this trio will heat up your garden with pink and purple petals, fiery red streaks and white-hot blooms with striking, chocolate-red anthers. All three varieties are long-lived, vigorous growers and reliable rebloomers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies.

Friendly Flowers that Climb and Crawl

Clematis love the warm sun on their tops but prefer cool feet, using their garden companions like a trellis, which makes them the perfect partner plants for roses, hardy geraniums, daylilies and more. Clematis are also ideal for containers—just add a small trellis or stake to your favourite pot. The shorter varieties are your best choice for containers, and taller ones can ascend up a full-size trellis or privacy fence.

All three varieties in this collection are classified as Pruning Group 2. This means they are able to produce flowers on old wood in early summer and new wood in the fall. Plan your plantings with this two-part blooming season in mind.

Flower Width: 4-7".

This collection includes 1 each of the following varieties.

Fleuri Clematis: Large, 6" blossoms of rich purple are enhanced by a vibrant magenta bar down each well-formed petal. Whether it's planted in a pretty pot to adorn a sunlit patio or porch, or trained to a small trellis for a touch of vertical interest, this clematis is destined to become a welcome part of the garden.

Miss Bateman Clematis: Large, icy white flowers with rich, chocolate-red anthers. A pale green stripe on the back of each petal fades with age, leaving a pretty pink tint behind. Robust and compact, Miss Bateman exhibits exceptional performance in containers. Reaching up to 7' tall, it also does very well trained to a trellis. Winner of the 1993 RHS Garden of Merit award.

Piilu Clematis: Light pink blooms accented by deep pink bars and dark red-purple centres appear in abundance, completely covering the vigorous vine. Though a bit shorter than many clematis varieties, Piilu makes a marvelous container plant. Can also be used as a unique ground cover planting.
